1. Facebook account is not the best associate when fighting with cyberstalking. It reveals all the information you want to hide from potential stalkers including places you go and at what time. You friends and family members are out on a limb too, given the fact that any stalker is able to identify them on Facebook. As well as you can just remove your Facebook account, you can at least delete all identifiable personal details, including phone number and location.
2. Be careful while signing up online. If it is possible, use fake details. Of course, many would assume that there is no harm in giving up their personal details while joining a website, but in fact you never know who will is on the receiving end. All information is stored in online databases and can be bought by any company or person. That is actually how many web sites make profit. Besides, many stores lure their customers in by giving multiple discounts on condition of personal information. Be aware and never fall for this trick. You are better off using fake info or just walk away.

3. It’s only by removing pictures of yourself from the Internet, you can be sure you are not at risk. It sounds harsh, but the reality is that a stalker having a strong obsession over his or her victims tends to fantasize about victim’s image constantly. So one should decide between the real value of pictures, Facebook posts and Instagram photos and own safety. Unfortunately for many reasons and in so many ways the letter is constantly neglected.
