Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log.
GRAND THEFT
- 05/20/2013 — 10:28 a.m. — Fuchsia Circle — Jewelry worth $10,000 went missing from a hall closet. The caller said it might have vanished sometime in the last week and might have been stolen by construction workers that did work at her residence.
- 05/20/2013 — 1:45 p.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard and Westminster — A gray sedan rear-ended a blue four-door Chevrolet and then left the scene. The Chevy’s driver reported the incident and said the other driver was a man about 70-years-old wearing a blue shirt and a blue baseball cap.
- 05/20/2013 — 4:40 p.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard — A caller said a woman tried to hit the caller’s children with a car. The woman than get out of the car -- a Silver Lexus SUV -- and tried to grab them. The woman said the kids had cut her off on their scooters, but the kids said they were a distance away. The woman was described as in her 40s with shoulder-length black hair and last seen wearing a red shirt.
- 05/20/2013 —5:27 p.m. — Thunderbird Drive — A man was spotted jumping over a wall near a location off Monterey Road about 45 minutes ago. The man was described as between 25 to 35 years old with dark hair, average height and an athletic build. He was also wearing a cap, black sunglasses and white polo shirt with thin, blue horizontal stripes and seen carrying a white plastic patio chair, which he used to climb over the wall.
- 05/20/2013 — 9:00 p.m. — Dolphin Ave — A man said a runner with curly hair ran by him and knocked him down. The man was bleeding from his mouth and described the runner as between 20 to 30 years old, with a medium build and a gray sweater, jeans and sandals. The man didn’t want a medic but said he would like a first-aid kit.
