Katella Avenue Project Expected to Cause Traffic Delays
It will include a new traffic signal at the Katella Avenue and Kaylor Avenue intersection and a reconfigured center median.

Construction begins on the Katella Avenue Improvement Project on Thursday, March 27, 2014 between Bloomfield and Cherry Avenues in the City of Los Alamitos.
The project consists of center median construction along a 700 foot section of Katella Avenue directly in front of the Los Alamitos Medical Center campus and Katella Manor Senior Living.
It will include a new traffic signal at the Katella Avenue and Kaylor Avenue intersection and a reconfigured center median. The median will be lengthened to facilitate additional stacking within the left hand turn lanes that lead into the Medical Center's new parking structure.
Traffic delays and congestion are expected, especially during morning and evening commutes. Drivers are encouraged to use Cerritos Avenue as an alternative to Katella Avenue.
