HB Air Show Brings Sights, Sounds & Traffic To Orange County

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — This Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 2nd Annual Breitling Huntington Beach Air Show will be held along the coastline in Huntington Beach. For Newport Beach residents, that means an extra added dose of noise and traffic.

"We anticipate that there will be air traffic over the waters at the western edge of our city as the aircraft for the show reposition throughout the day," Newport Beach Police advised in a recent release. "Our residents can expect increased audible impact from these aircraft between the hours of noon and 4 p.m.

The map shows a visual representation of the areas that will likely be impacted - highlighted in green.

Training exercises on Thursday may also affect Seal Beach and Los Alamitos.

Noise from passing aircraft may be very loud, they said.

"Please be sure to make accommodations for anyone who may be disturbed, including pets," NBPD advised.
Residents and visitors to the city may also be impacted by increased traffic along Pacific Coast Highway during the event.

In the skies above Los Alamitos/Seal Beach, residents like Bhuvan Bajaj have shared photos of the planes as they rocket by.

Traffic should be expected along PCH at approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

"Please use alternate routes when possible to avoid delay," NBPD advised.
