According to Kropp, the school board and district staff have been working on the project for about eight years.

“It’ll be a nice complex,” Kropp said. “It took a lot of effort.”

Also at the groundbreaking ceremony, Kropp said education officials will showcase the recently renovated gym and tennis courts.

According to Kropp, the project cost about $4 million and local donors helped pay for part of the project. The Track Booster Club donated about $80,000, and Our Los Al donated $200,000.

Kropp said they hope to finish the work within eight months.
