Los Alamitos High School Makes U.S. News Rankings 2016 Best High Schools

Los Alamitos High School earned a silver medal in the national high school ranking.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA - Los Alamitos was ranked among the state's best schools, receiving a silver medal in the U.S. News & World Report 'Best High Schools' ranking.

The school was singled out because of the opportunities its students have to take Advanced Placement courses. At Los Alamitos 50 percent of students enrolled in advanced placement classes. The school was ranked 132 among all California schools and 832nd nationally.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."
