Los Alamitos Jeremy Matteson Named Adult Honoree for the Jingle Bell Run/Walk For Arthritis, December 7th

5K Run/Walk Funds Research For A Cure For Arthritis, The Nation's Leading Cause of Disability

The Arthritis Foundation, Pacific Region, has named Los Alamitos’ Jeremy Matteson, PT, CSCS Adult Honoree for the 2014 Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. Jeremy participated in sports and athletics throughout his life and with over 16 years of experience in physical therapy, he has achieved a variety of accomplishments in many different areas. He graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 1996 with a double Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training.

Jeremy has been the owner of CPRx, Inc., located in Los Alamitos, for almost 12 years. He helps his clients achieve their maximum potential in a family-oriented and comfortable environment. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and California Physical Therapy Association. Previous achievements include: certification as a strength and condition specialist, consultant in rehabilitation to the Great Britain Women’s Olympic sprint team, and provider of physical therapy to the Beach Track organization in preparation for the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympic Trials.

Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family and maintaining a highly active lifestyle. He is the coach for his daughters’ soccer and track teams. He has been his age group winner in many half marathons and trail races.

The 3rd annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk is a great way to celebrate the season of giving! Get in the holiday spirit by coming in costume and tying jingle bells to your shoelaces! The Arthritis Foundation expects hundreds to participate in the Orange County Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk this year on Sunday, December 7th, 2014, starting at 8:00 AM at the Crown Valley Community Park, 29751 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA, 92677. Chosen as one of the Most Incredible Themed Races, the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a holly jolly way to find a cure for nearly 53 million adults and 300,000 children with arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability.

Runners and walkers will enjoy live entertainment, Reindeer Games in the Kids’ Fun Zone, REAL SNOW, crafts, face painting, and the Rudolph Ramble, a 1K un-timed fun run for ages 2-12. The 2014 Jingle Bell Run/Walk Honorees will be on stage to share their stories. Youth Honoree Hudson Bryan, age 7, was diagnosed juvenile arthritis when he was 4 years old. When not in pain, he likes to play soccer, swim and build Legos. Jeremy Matteson, Adult Honoree, is a Physical Therapist dedicated to rehabilitating his clients so they can achieve their maximum potential. Medical Honoree Perry R. Secor, M.D., is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in joint replacement.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and the opening program starts at 7:30 a.m. The timed 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00 a.m. There will be a special Rudolph Ramble kids’ 1K Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. for ages 2-12 years. An awards ceremony will follow at 9:45 a.m.
