Los Alamitos Jewelry Store 'Smash & Grab'

A Los Alamitos small business suffered major damages during a "smash and grab" robbery, Tuesday.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — A small business jewelry store on Los Alamitos Boulevard and Florista Street was burglarized early Tuesday, and the damages caused were more than the amount of jewelry lost, according to the shop owner.

The crime occurred about 3 a.m. at Crystal Gems, on the 10900 block of Los Alamitos Blvd., said Los Alamitos police Capt. Sean Connolly.

"Officers went to the location in response to a burglary alarm and found the front window and front glass door had been smashed," Connolly said. "The suspect or suspects were gone when police arrived."
