Los Alamitos Students Wear Yellow For Kindness
These Lee Elementary school students recently dressed in yellow for kindness awareness week.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Last week, the students of Lee Elementary School celebrated “Kindness Day" with books, stories and most of all by wearing the sunniest color of all: yellow.
The entire school was dressed and decorated in yellow to honor the theme “Turn Someone’s Grey Day Yellow," according to the Los Alamitos Unified School District.
Students read books on kindness, discussed ways to be kind to others, and over 600 acts of kindness were posted in front of our school.

Throughout the day, families stopped to read the heartfelt messages of how to be kind, Los Alamitos Unified School District spokesperson Tina Dingillo said.
Lee Elementary helped California join 22 states and four countries on the quest to spread kindness across the world.

"This day originally began as a celebration of life for a kindergarten teacher and mentor who lost her battle to cancer," Dingillo said. "Because yellow was her favorite color and she was viewed to her friends as ‘the kindest person in the world’, Lee joins in to spread kindness across the world in her honor."
