Los Alamitos Wind Advisory: Gusts Up To 40 MPH Possible
Batten down the hatches, Los Alamitos residents. The wind is coming.
LOS ALAMITOS, CA āCrank those patio umbrellas down and bring in the lawn chair cushions! The National Weather Service has alerted Los Alamitos residents of an impending wind storm Thursday afternoon. The wind was expected to blast Orange County's inland cities: Los Alamitos, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Irvine, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel.
The strongest sustained winds will occur along and near the coastal slopes of the mountains and below passes and canyons.
A wind advisory is in effect until 3 p.m., according to the NWS. Northeast winds are expected at speeds of 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 4o miles per hour.

Isolated gusts are expected up to 50 miles per hour, they reported.
"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," according to an NWS spokesperson. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."
