Man, 23, Arrested In Hit-And-Run Crash Involving 5 Dancers In Seal Beach

SEAL BEACH, CA — A 23-year-old driver wanted for a suspected hit-and-run crash in Seal Beach that hospitalized five people on Sunday, Feb. 11 was arrested, Seal Beach Police Department Lt. Julia Clasby said.

Lake Forest resident Jahson Imgrund surrendered to Seal Beach police and was taken into custody on Sunday, Feb. 19. He was booked on suspicion of felony hit and run with serious bodily injury, Clasby said.

Authorities said that Imgrund initially fled on foot from the crash after running a red light and crashing with another vehicle at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street.

Seal Beach police told the Orange County Register that the vehicle Imgrund had been driving was not registered to his name and had most likely been borrowed.

Officers were assisted by volunteers from the West County Community Emergency Response Team, who canvassed the neighborhood and gathered surveillance footage and witness testimonies in the days following the crash.

“We want to thank the community for their support and assistance during this investigation. The assistance of volunteers canvassing the neighborhood, residents searching for additional video evidence, and the ongoing concern for the victims and their families illustrates how tight-knit the Seal Beach community is,” Seal Beach Police Chief Michael Henderson said in a statement.
