WESTMINSTER, CA — A man was convicted of killing his lover's husband while he slept in a Westminster apartment unit, the Orange County Register reported.

Roberto Saavedra-Gallardo, 46, was found guilty of first degree murder for conspiring with Olga Vasquez-Collazos to carry out the killing of Adrian Zapata, 58, in 2014.

According to prosecutors, Saavedra-Gallardo and Vasquez-Collazos planned to kill Zapata in order to make room for their own relationship. They also had plans to set themselves up with the little money and property Zapata owned, prosecutors said.
