Garden Grove Man Identified In Fatal Bridge Crash

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The Orange County Coroner's office identified a Garden Grove man who was killed when his vehicle collided with another on a bridge over the Garden Grove Freeway in Westminster, authorities said Monday.

The collision occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. Sunday on the 22 freeway bridge at Springdale Street and Garden Grove Boulevard, said Westminster police Sgt. Mike Harvey.

The driver, 26-year-old Xavier Obregon, who was alone in his vehicle at the time of collision, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Orange County coroner's office.

Two people in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening, Harvey said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, he said.
