Northwest OC Home Gutted By Fire, Family Pet Killed
A Stanton area house fire completely gutted this home and displaced the adults who lived there. The family pet was killed during the blaze.
STANTON, CA — A northwest Orange County single family home was gutted by fire that killed a family pet, Sunday morning, authorities say. The Orange County Fire Authority responded to the call at the one-story home to find it completely engulfed in flames. The family was not home at the time of the fire, however their dog was found dead inside due to smoke inhalation, authorities said.
The home, on the 8000 block of Kennelly Lane, suffered over $400,000 in structure damages and $150,000 in contents, according to OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi. The house was later red-tagged by city officials.
Two adults were displaced as a result of the fire, and the Red Cross was providing temporary housing for the family, Concialdi said.
