OC Seniors Dance The Night Away At Special Prom Event
The older adult community was invited to take part in the annual MemorialCare Senior Prom event.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Orange County's older adult community was treated to a very special night on Saturday, May 6, after the City of Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services Department held its 7th annual MemorialCare Senior Prom event.
Participants at the event enjoyed a themed evening full of dancing, live music, a crowning ceremony, catered dinner, photo booth opportunities and door prizes.

This year, the program hosted a disco-themed event complete with shimmering decor, groovy tunes and a big disco ball.

The increasingly popular event originally sold out its 96 seats two weeks before the day of prom, Community Services Coordinator and event organizer Gilberto Arteaga-Ceja told Patch. Due to high demand, an additional 16 seats were provided on the day of the event for walk-in attendees.
Residents interested in attending the annual Senior Prom should mark their calendars for next May, Arteaga said. More information on the event — and other events held by the city's Recreation & Community Services Department — can be found on the city's website.
