OC Vote & 90s Bands Call on Seal Beach Residents to Volunteer [Watch Video]
Orange County's favorite 90s bands are calling on residents to work polls in November's election. Hear from LIT, Save Ferris & Jason Freese

SEAL BEACH, CA — In a public service announcement released today across Orange County, several of OC's favorite 90s bands are lending their celebrity to the search for OC Poll Workers at the November 8th General Election.
"We are grateful to hometown successes LIT, SAVE FERRIS and musician Jason Freese for giving their valuable time to assist us in getting the word out on Election Day volunteering," Neal Kelley, Registrar of Voters for Orange County said. "The Presidential Election is a huge operation and requires nearly 10,000 volunteers."
The Orange County bands of LIT, SAVE FERRIS, and musician Jason Freese of Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel all donated their time and energy to participate in the poll worker search.

"You only count when you participate," LIT, an OC recording artist and platinum selling 90s band stated in the video.

LIT formed in 1990 in Orange County, CA and embraced a spunky brand of punk-pop that helped attract a local following. Their breakthrough album appeared on RCA Records and included "My Own Worst Enemy", which paved the way for platinum sales and dominated U.S. Modern Rock charts.
SAVE FERRIS also lent their support This OC ska-punk band formed circa 1995. Their name is a reference to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The Epic Recording artists toured extensively in support of "It Means Everything", opening for bands such as Sugar Ray, The Offspring, and Reel Big Fish.
Jason Freese is an American musician,songwriter, record producer, and recording engineer. As a professional studio musician he has performed on over 50 albums by more than 35 different artists, including multiple albums by the Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, and Jewel.
With millions of Orange County voters, over 1,000 poll workers are needed according to the Registrar of Voters.
"Election Day is November 8, 2016 and hundreds of poll workers are still needed as Inspectors and Clerks," the OC Registrar of Voters said.
How do I qualify to help?
As long as an individual is registered to vote in California they are eligible to volunteer in Orange County according to the Registrar of Voters.
Do you get paid to work at the polls?
Polling Place Inspectors, Polling Place Clerks, Election Day Coordinators, Election Day A Team Workers, Election Supply Collector Center Workers and Election Night Tally Center Operations Workers are paid a stipend on Election Day and sometimes mileage.
