Officer Injured In Crash In Seal Beach, Police Say

The Seal Beach Police officer was injured while responding to an emergency call for service, authorities said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A Seal Beach Police officer was injured after being involved in a traffic crash while responding to an emergency call for service, the department reported.

The incident happened on Friday, May 12, when an on-duty Seal Beach Police officer responded with lights and sirens to an emergency medical aid call for service.

According to police, the officer drove into the intersection at Seal Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway when his car was struck by another car.

The officer, who was not identified by name, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital later that day.

The driver of the other car also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the crash.
