Pedestrian Killed by 2 Separate Hit and Run Drivers

Police are looking for two drivers who fled the scene after killing a 30-year-old pedestrian on Brookhurst Street.

Updated at 11 a.m: A 30-year-old Santa Ana man was fatally struck by two hit-and-run drivers in Fountain Valley early today and police were searching for the motorists who fled the scene.

Theodore Antolin was crossing a divided highway in the 17100 block of Brookhurst Street, between La Hacienda and La Alameda avenues, around 3:15 a.m. when he was struck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Fountain Valley police Sgt. Steve DeSantis said Antolin was crossing the street outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a silver SUV headed south on Brookhurst.

The SUV driver did not stop. Seconds later, a white sedan also heading south on Brookhurst, struck Antolin while he was laying on the road. That driver kept going as well, DeSantis said.

Officers arrived at the scene and found Antolin. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to DeSantis.

Police were searching for the two drivers who fled the scene, Desantis added.
