A Perfect New Year's Resolution: Making Your Home Fit Your Personality

There are only a few days left in 2016 and I'm starting to prepare for the new year. I have this feeling that 2017 is going to be the year I really shine. Sure, we all make resolutions every New Year’s Eve, but more often than not we don’t keep them. This year I intend to follow through with my resolution, so I started planning early. I am going to re-make my home to create an environment that fits with my personality.

It’s important to come home to a comfort zone: a place that you feel free to be yourself. I’ve decided to base my decor on my zodiac sign. I am a Libra, which means that my ultimate desire is to live an easy life. I want to make my home a peaceful, serene shelter from the chaos that we live in; an escape from the difficulties of our day-to-day routine.

To design this escape from reality, I plan on using this guide to help me decorate my home with shades of blue and pictures of the ocean. I love having fresh-picked flowers in my home and I intend to keep vases of Lilies on my table, as those are an elegant bloom that tend to relax Libras. I even found a birth month Christmas tree guide and I will absolutely be decorating with the Arctic White Tree next year to match my birthstone. Hopefully my tree will be on sale soon, since the holidays just passed!
