Red Tier Reopenings In Los Alamitos: Things For Residents To Know

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Los Alamitos is reopening for business, even at a reduced capacity, and this is a sign of good things in days to come, according to a recent news release from the city.

"The sustainability of our community businesses remains a priority and the City of Los Alamitos is dedicated to assisting businesses during these unprecedented times," they said.

Orange County has advanced from the purple “widespread” tier to the red “substantial” tier in the State of California’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” reopening plan.

The plan replaced the “Resilience Roadmap,” and counties must now advance through a color-coded, four-tier system to gradually reopen business sectors safely.

Effective immediately, the following businesses, including those in Los Alamitos, may reopen and increase their capacities under the red tier:

Restaurants

• May reopen for indoor dining with modifications.
• Capacity must be limited to 25 percent or 100 people, whichever is less.

Places of Worship

• May reopen indoors with modifications.
• Los Alamitos must limit indoor activities to 25 percent capacity or 100 people, whichever is less.

Shopping

• May reopen with modifications.
• Indoor capacity must be limited to 50 percent for shopping malls, destination shopping centers, and swap meets.
• Common areas are closed.
• Reduced capacity shopping center food courts (see Industry Guidelines for Restaurants)
  • Retail Stores
    • May reopen with modifications.
    • Retail capacity must be limited to 50 percent.

Gyms and Fitness Facilities

• May reopen indoors with modifications.
• Capacity must be limited to 10 percent.

Movie Theaters

• May reopen with modifications.
• Capacity must be limited to 25 percent or 100 people, whichever is less.

As a result of advancing into the substantial (red) tier, the County of Orange Health Care Agency issued a New Health Order that addresses Orange County’s advancement into the new tier.
