LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The City of Los Alamitos's Planning Commission is considering revisions to the city's Municipal Code to permit short term rental units, and residents were urged to have their voices heard.
Residents and property owners of Los Alamitos were asked by the city to fill out a survey regarding the city's need for short term rental units.
A short-term rental is either a private home or apartment that provides overnight accommodation to guests for payment and for periods of fewer than 30 straight days.

AirBnB and CRBO are two examples of online websites that market short-term rentals. The rentals are currently not allowed in residential zones in Los Alamitos.
Residents can provide input by completing the city's Short-Term Rental Survey, which ends July 30, officials said.
