Robbers Threaten Man With Knife Near Seal Beach Pier, Police Say

One man is behind bars and two other suspects are facing charges for the robbery, which happened near the 10th Street Parking Lot.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A Garden Grove man was in custody Tuesday and two others were facing charges for their suspected involvement in a Seal Beach robbery, the Seal Beach Police Department reported.

Police were sent to the Seal Beach Pier and the 10th Street Parking lot regarding the robbery at around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Seal Beach Police Department Lt. Julia Clasby said.

According to police, the suspects were driving a black Honda when they pulled in behind another vehicle and confronted a victim, who jumped inside his vehicle and locked himself inside.

One suspect slashed the rear driver's side tire and another suspect started pounding on the driver's side window, Clasby said. The victim drove his car over a parking block to get away, authorities said.

Another victim reported to police that two suspects approached him in the driver's seat of his vehicle, opening the door and harassing him, Clasby said. One suspect punched the victim repeatedly in the head while another threatened him with a knife for his wallet, she said.

Police caught up to the suspect vehicle and arrested the three.

The suspects were identified as Anthony Fuentes, 23, of Anaheim, Carlos Cifuentes, 22, of Garden Grove and Wendy Guzman, 22, of Orange, Clasby said. Fuentes and Guzman were released on bail Sunday, but Cifuentes remained behind bars in lieu of $150,000 bail, Clasby said.

Fuentes was booked on suspicion of robbery and vandalism, Cifuentes was booked on robbery and Guzman was booked on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact.
