Community Corner

Run to Help the Hurting

Grateful Hearts is extending an invitation to the community to Run for the Hurting on Oct 13, 2013- in the Long Beach Marathon.

Grateful Hearts is a participating charity for the LB Marathon in an effort to continue effectively serving those who come to us for help, as well as enabling us to expand our current programs to reach an even greater number of people.

Last year GH served over 52,000 people, and this year we continue to serve approximately 4500 people each month by providing food, clothing, household necessities, furniture and appliances to those in need.

We are also blessed to support our military personnel on an ongoing basis - both active and veteran. Additionally, we assist over 75 outside agencies with these and other need-based items for their organizations and clients.

We deliver food to shut-ins, who by reason of illness or injury, are not able to access our facility.

We are also honored to have a "special needs program" for both adults and students at Grateful Hearts. We work tirelessly to provide a positive environment for each one to come and learn basic work and social skills, while also learning to give back to their community.

We have many different community programs throughout the year, but there is much more to be done.

Won't you please consider taking part? You can join our team (by running/walking)  or create a fundraising page (whether you run or not) or donate to our cause.

** We will begin training Sat June 29th at 7:00 am at 4500 Katella Ave. Cypress in the parking lot by building C ….
