Seal Beach To Launch Pilot Dog Park At Zoeter Park

The pop-up dog park will be open from sunrise to sunset, and run from Sept. 29 through Nov. 29.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Dog owners of Seal Beach, your pup's playtime just got a little better. The City of Seal Beach is hosting a pop-up dog park at Zoeter park, the city announced Thursday. Opening on Sept. 29, this pilot program will operate everyday from sunrise to sunset until Nov. 29. Seal Beach City Officials are encouraging community members to give feedback about the dog park as the pilot program goes on.

The choice to create a pop-up dog park was made in response to ongoing feedback from residents advocating for a permanent dog park in the downtown area of Seal Beach, according to a statement released by the city.

“We have heard from many residents especially in my district that see a dog park as a nice amenity that will enhance the quality of life for residents and their pets and further activate the park, which might add to the sense of community that brings people together,” Seal Beach Mayor Joe Kalmick said. “This temporary dog park will allow us to gain feedback from residents and determine if a permanent dog park is something that we should have further discussions about.”
