Seal Beach Man Identified In Back Alley Bar Death: Police Seek Answers

Police hope someone will come forward to explain why a dying man was found bleeding behind a Main Street Bar

SEAL BEACH, CA — A popular bar in Seal Beach was the scene of possible foul play in Seal Beach according to police. On Tuesday, police and paramedics responded to the rear of "Clancy's" bar, on the 100 block of Main Street in Seal Beach.

"The Seal Beach Police are seeking assistance from the public in a death investigation," Seal Beach Sgt. Michael Henderson said.

A 46-year-old Seal Beach resident, identified as James Tinsman, was found unconscious and bleeding in the alley behind “Clancy’s.”

The cause of the injury was unknown as of this report.

"Mr. Tinsman was treated at the scene and transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries," Henderson said.

The bar, frequented by soldiers on leave, is known to be a rowdy location according to area residents.

Seal Beach Police Detectives are seeking witnesses or anyone with information about this incident.
