Seal Beach Suspect Sought In Attempted Ayres Hotel Robbery
A Seal Beach armed robbery went awry when the hotel clerk called 911. Police are still searching for a man matching this description.

SEAL BEACH, CA — An attempted robbery at Seal Beach's Ayres Hotel had police searching for a suspect on Friday according to reports. Police are searching for a Hispanic male in his 20s, according to the Seal Beach Police Department spokesperson.
"On Thursday, June 15, at approximately 11 p.m., Seal Beach Police Officers received a call of an attempted robbery at the Ayres Hotel located at 12800 block of Seal Beach Boulevard," Seal Beach Police Department Officer Mike Henderson said. "Officers arrived on scene and began an area search for the suspect."
The initial investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the hotel lobby, told the clerk he had a gun, and demanded cash from the register.

"When the clerk told the suspect he called 9-1-1, the suspect used his fist to strike the clerk," Henderson said. "The suspect then immediately fled the hotel. There was no loss and no weapon was seen."
After an extensive search officers were unable to locate the suspect.
