Search On For Missing Diver Near Oil Platform Off SoCal Coast
Rescuers are searching for a diver who went missing while with a group of divers near an oil platform 7 miles off the OC/Long Beach coast.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA ā Rescuers searched for a missing diver Sunday near an oil platform near the coast of northern Orange County and Long Beach.
The diver was with a group of people yet went missing near the Elly Oil platform at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The U.S. Coast Guard was assisting local agencies including the Long Beach Fire Department, which responded to the area where the diver went missing.

"Coast Guard air and surface assets along with local partner agencies are actively searching for a missing diver in the vicinity of platform Elly off the coast of Huntington Beach," the USCG tweeted at 12:40 p.m.
It's not the first time a diver went missing near Elly. In 2017, a diver's body was found more than 200 feet down near the oil platform following a commercial dive involving an uncontrolled descent that left three people injured.

The Platform Elly sits about 7-1/2 miles off the coast.
