Serial Car Arsonist Sought In North Orange County
Residents woke Monday to discover their cars fully ablaze. Now, police and arson investigators are seeking the suspect.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA ā Several car fires broke out within an hour, merely blocks from one another in the city of Huntington Beach. Now, officials are on alert to determine who is responsible. Huntington Beach resident Randy Toe experienced shock and awe at the sight of his vehicle fully ablaze.
"We were awakened by large sounds, small explosions," Randy Coe, a victim of the car fire told OnScene reporters. "Hopefully we can piece this together and they can catch the guy or guys that did this."
All five vehicle fires were believed to be cases of arson, Huntington Beach police said. At least three were a total loss, according to reports.

The fires were first reported about 3 a.m. Monday in morning the general areas of 14th Street and Orange Avenue, 16th Street and Orange Avenue, and 19th Street and Pecan Avenue. No injuries were reported.
Three vehicles were destroyed and two others sustained some damage, said Huntington Beach police Officer Angela Bennett.
