Slideshow: Red Crab Beach Invasion

Befuddling beachgoers and city officials tasked with removing them, thousands of red crabs continued their OC Beach invasion.

A phenomenon attributed to El Nino-warm waters, thousands of tiny red crabs continued to swarm Orange County beaches this week.

The pelagic red or tuna crabs make for a striking site, turning local beaches red.

Usually seen south of San Diego, the critters covered the shore in San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna and Newport Beach Sunday.
