Smash-And-Grab Robbery Ends With Pursuit Crash In North OC

The Orange County jewelry store was robbed by a 20-year-old Los Angeles man and two juveniles, police say.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Three people were arrested on suspicion of robbing a Tustin jewelry store Tuesday, May 16, before leading authorities on a chase that ended when their vehicle crashed in Westminster, police said.

Authorities were dispatched to The District at Tustin Legacy store at around 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a smash-and-grab robbery in process.

Upon arriving, the suspect left the scene in a white SUV, the Tustin Police Department reported.

The suspects led police on a chase that ended when they ultimately crashed in Westminster, in the area of Westminster and Bolsa Chica boulevards. The three suspects then fled the scene on foot but were later taken into custody.

The three suspects were identified as two juvenile boys and 20-year-old Kristen Tytrell Woods, of Los Angeles County.

As of Wednesday evening, Woods remained in custody at Orange County Men's jail in lieu of $1 million bail, the Orange County Register reported. Woods is due in court next Thursday.
