Stolen Truck Chase Across Orange County Ends In Los Alamitos

Orange County Sheriff's Department and local authorities chased down a suspected stolen vehicle until it crashed in Los Alamitos, Friday.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Did you see and hear helicopters in Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach and Garden Grove early Friday?

The driver of a reportedly stolen box truck led officers on a road race across North Orange County at approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday morning.

One suspect was arrested after California Highway Patrol Officers performed a PIT maneuver and toppled the truck, CHP said. The vehicle then flipped onto its side, and the driver was arrested after he fled the scene on foot, according to CHP dispatch.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of the La Habra area around 8:30 a.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The crash occurred on Lampson Avenue, just before Seal Beach Boulevard.
