Street Closures Scheduled For Run Seal Beach 5K/10K Saturday

Several city streets will be closed Saturday, March 25 for the 49th annual Run Seal Beach 5K/10K, the police department said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Residents looking to get around Seal Beach by car on Saturday may want to steer clear of some areas of town, as the 49th annual Run Seal Beach 5K/10K takes place Saturday, March 25.

The run will take place in the Old Town and surrounding areas of Seal Beach, Lieutenant Julia Clasby said. Several city streets will be closed all morning for the event to ensure runner safety.

Residents should steer clear of the following streets from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. the day of the run.

  • Marina Bridge — affecting both directions heading to and from Long Beach to Seal Beach.
  • Marina Drive — from Electric to 1st Street.
  • 1st Street — from Seal Beach Shores (mobile home park) to Marina Drive.

From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., residents should avoid the following streets:

  • 1st Street — from Marina Drive to Ocean Avenue.
  • Ocean Avenue — from 1st Street to 7th Street.
  • Ocean Avenue — from 7th Street to Electric & Landing.
  • Seal Beach Boulevard — from Electric to PCH.

From 8 a.m. 8:30 a.m., residents should expect the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Seal Beach Boulevard to be closed.

The Seal Beach Police Department said residents can expect the following city streets to face partial closures through the day:

  • Seal Beach Boulevard — from Pacific Coast Highway to Westminster Boulevard — one lane of southbound traffic will be closed. Other lanes will be open to through traffic.
  • Electric Avenue — northbound side from Seal Beach Boulevard to Marina Drive.
  • Westminster Boulevard — from Seal Beach Boulevard to River Trail Input — one lane of eastbound traffic will be closed but open to through traffic in other lanes.

The SBPD reminded residents that there will also be no parking on the streets listed above.

Vehicles parked along the racecourse may not be moved from closed streets during the race hours of 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
