Suspected Motorcycle Thieves Arrested In Seal Beach

Seal Beach Police chased the two Garden Grove suspects, hauling a stolen bike, from Leisure World to Long Beach.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Police arrested two Garden Grove residents after a car chase across North Orange County and into Long Beach early Tuesday morning. Officers were searching for the pair, seen stealing a motorcycle from a home in the Leisure World community, Seal Beach Police said.

Ryan Putney, 33, and Amee Harvasty, 32, were inside a truck that left Leisure World at 4:30 a.m. carrying a stolen motorcycle. Officers attempted to stop their vehicle after it failed to yield. The pair then led police on a cross-city chase into Long Beach, Los Alamitos and finally ending in Seal Beach.

"The (driver) ultimately yielded, and the suspects were taken into custody," Seal Beach Police Sgt. Michael Henderson said.
