2 Teens Injured In Shooting Near Knott's Berry Farm

Knotts Berry Farm reopened Saturday after a shooting near the entrance of the park injured two and sent ticket holders into a panic.

BUENA PARK, CA — Knott's Berry Farm reopened Saturday after a shooting near the park's entrance wounded two teenagers and sent park goers fleeing for cover Friday.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. near the front of the park on Beach Boulevard and La Palma Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said on Twitter.

"Officers are currently responding to a shooting outside of Knott's Berry Farm. There is no active shooter," the Buena Park Police Department tweeted at 8:58 p.m.

Details regarding a suspect or suspect vehicle were not available Saturday.

"We have been made aware of an incident which took place away from Knott's Berry Farm. A victim was assisted by park personnel outside of the park's gates and transported to a local hospital. The incident is currently being investigated. All inquires should be directed to the Buena Park Police or local authorities," Knott's Berry Farm posted on its website.

Footage posted to social media showed people scrambling for cover and diving for safety. Dozens of people fled from the park as workers sheltered in place, according to multiple reports.

"Everyone started panicking, kids were getting lost because we didn't know what was going on," Melody Padilla, who was at the park, told ABC7.

Police closed Beach Boulevard near the park and officers investigated Friday night.

Buena Park police urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 714-562-3901.
