Super Bowl Sunday Brings Upped Police Presence To Seal Beach
The Seal Beach Police Department will be out in the community at full force on Sunday, Feb. 12 to look for drivers suspected of DUI driving.
SEAL BEACH, CA — As Super Bowl LVII Sunday draws near, the Seal Beach Police Department announced that officers would be out in full force the day of the game to catch DUI drivers and keep the city streets safe.
The upped police presence was made possible by a grant through the California Office of Traffic Safety, police said in a statement.
“We want the football fans in our community to enjoy Super Bowl festivities, but we also want responsible drivers on our roads,” SBPD Chief Michael Henderson said. “Before you grab a drink, make sure your game plan includes scheduling a ride-share or designating a sober driver.”

The department also reminded residents that alcohol is not the only substance that causes impaired driving. Marijuana, prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may also hinder your ability to drive safely, police said.
