Volunteers Needed For Seal Beach Police Academy

SEAL BEACH, CA — Are you a Seal Beach resident looking to give back to your community? The Seal Beach Police Department will be hosting a Volunteer in Police Services Academy throughout the rest of the year, and residents are encouraged to attend.

The SBPD will host its Volunteer in Police Services Academy starting on Thursday, Sept. 7 and concluding on Thursday, Oct. 5. Academy classes will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursdays at the Seal Beach Police Department on 911 Seal Beach Boulevard.

Attendance at every session is mandatory to successfully graduate, the SBPD said.

According to a SBPD news release, the Volunteers In Police Services participate in various functions at the Police Department, including volunteer patrols, records, property, fleet services, special events and more.

"Volunteers are an important part of our department and have been serving with distinction since 1997," an SBPD news release said.
