The original RPMT (Rossmoor PREDATOR Management Team) has been cancelled, as of 10/27/13, Rebecca & David Lara have retired the organization to spend more time with each other & travel. They are just 2 of the wonderful individuals who led the charge to warn residents of coyote dangers in the community. They made great strides in working with the Rossmoor Homeowner Association & Orange County Public Works Dept., to install grates over the flood channel drains & close the gaps in the flood channel fences to keep more coyotes out of Rossmoor.
Although the Lara's have retired the program, Rossmoor Still NEEDS an RPMT, an organization who will still be on the lookout with Volunteer Dog Squaders, to look for Fluffy or Fido should they escape through the gate you accidentally left open that one Saturday while you were raking leaves.....
Please send me an email if you would like to be a Volunteer Dog Squader! This is a great job if you're retired, or maybe work at home & need a break from your computer, to go take a drive in the neighborhood calling out for Fluffy or Fido.
Thanks to CalTrans & the West County Connector freeway project, the workers destroyed the coyote dens on the other side of the sound wall at Martha Ann Dr. & the 605fwy merger. We Rossmoorians, have benefited from a major decrease in coyote infiltration. However they do still get in. My newsletter will talk about how to "Coyotify" your backyard.
The word "Predator", however, makes me think of something other than coyotes. That's why we're now called the Rossmoor PET Management Team.
I look forward to bringing this important program back to life. Sign up to receive the New Newsletter Today!
