Woman Dies In Seal Beach Collision, 1 Arrested On DUI Suspicion

Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a major traffic collision at Seal Beach Boulevard and St. Andrews Drive.

SEAL BEACH, CA —A woman died Thursday due to a fatal traffic collision in Seal Beach, Seal Beach Police say. One driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested.

On Thursday, shortly before 3:45 p.m., the Seal Beach Police Department received a call of a serious traffic accident near Seal Beach Boulevard and St. Andrews Drive.

Responding officers discovered two vehicles had collided in the intersection. Orange County Fire Authority medics took both drivers and one passenger to local hospitals by ambulance.

"Unfortunately, an adult, female driver later died at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the collision," Seal Beach Sgt. Nick Nicholas said.

German Juarez, age 29, of Los Angeles, sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to Nicholas. He was later arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter.

Upon his release from the hospital, he was booked at the Orange
County Jail.

The other involved passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries, he reported.

No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash.

Seal Beach Boulevard was shut down in both directions while officers investigated the scene of the collision.
