2 Home-Invasion Robbery Suspects Possibly Linked To Los Altos Hills Case

The pair was arrested for a similar incident in Newark.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion robbery in Newark earlier this month as well as an attempted home invasion robbery the following day, police said Friday.

The two men, Gerralle Pryor, 22, and Jereme Brown, 26, have also been identified as suspects in a violent home invasion robbery in Los Altos Hills, according to police.

Two suspects, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, robbed, kicked and pistol-whipped residents in a home invasion robbery in the 6300 block of Mirabeau Drive in Newark at about 11:15 p.m. on May 2, according to police. The following day, May 3, a Newark patrol officer investigated a report of an open gate at a residence in the 6300 block of Narcissus Avenue, about two miles from the Mirabeau Drive residence, police said.

Surveillance footage from home security cameras at the Narcissus Avenue residence indicated that the suspects in that incident matched the description of the suspects in the robbery on Mirabeau Drive, police said. Investigators concluded that the suspects were attempting to commit a second home invasion robbery but may have been interrupted by a neighbor’s dog barking, according to police.

The footage of the Narcissus Avenue incident was distributed to police agencies in Alameda County, and Oakland police Sgt. Anthony Tedesco was able to identify Pryor, Newark police said. Pryor was wanted on several outstanding warrants and was a wanted fugitive from Nevada.

Pryor was located at a pawnshop in Oakland on May 11 and arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and several other charges, police said.

Brown was with Pryor and because he matched the description of the second suspect in the Newark home invasion robbery cases he was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and other charges, according to police.

At about the same time, Santa Clara County sheriff’s detectives identified Pryor and Brown as being involved in a violent home invasion robbery and pursuit in Los Altos Hills, police said.

Newark police said they’ve sent their report on the incidents in their city to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and are asking prosecutors to charge Pryor and Brown with home invasion robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with the intent to commit a robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and gang enhancements for the Mirabeau Avenue incident.

They are also asking that the two men be charged with attempted home invasion robbery for the Narcissus Avenue incident. Anyone with any information about the incidents in Newark should call Detective Sam Ackerman at (510) 578-4232.
