Aloha! Kula Sweet Celebrates Its Opening on Main

Courtney Okuda had a special guest at the official opening ceremony for the boutique named after her family's hometown on the island of Maui: Grandma Millie, straight from the 'Valley Isle' of Hawaii.

No one was wearing plumeria leis.

But aloha comes from the heart, and what better messenger than Grandma for that? 

Courtney Okuda celebrated the official ribbon-cutting to her women's boutique, Kula Sweet Friday, and had some special help.

Grandma Millie Okuda arrived. The boutique is named for Kula, her grandparents' hometown on Maui, and the family spirit on which she says the boutique is built.

The Silicon Valley tech-refugee-turned-boutique owner, has said she wants customers to feel like ohana when they come into Kula Sweet, like family.

The boutique plans to have trunk shows during the year, and is available for private parties. It carries 3 Sisters, Alix, Bella Luxx, Bibelot, Cameo, Covet, Dora Landa, Eight-Sixty, Eva Franco, Get, Goddis, Jaloux, Lovestitch, Made By, Noblita, Skinny Tees, Tolani, Undrest, VaVa & Voom, Wendy Katlan, Henry & Belle Denim and Stone Denim, among others.
