Annual Library Endowment Author Event

The Los Altos Library Endowment will present the 12th in its series, “Speaking Volumes” on Monday, May 5th at 7:30 pm in the library’s program room. The event is free and open to the public.

The featured speaker is Dr. Patrick Hunt, Stanford University lecturer, archaeologist, writer, poet and composer.  His interest in Ancient History and Ancient Technology as well as Archaeological Science inspired Dr. Hunt to write his well-known book, “Ten Discoveries That Rewrote History”.  His current book, “A Few Hundred Thoughts” will be available for sale and signing by Dr. Hunt.

Dr. Patrick Hunt was director of Stanford’s Alpine Archaeology Project from 1994 until last year, when it was renamed the Hannibal Project.  This endeavor conducted high altitude research in the Great St. Bernard Pass between Switzerland and Italy. Dr. Hunt also directed a team that found a Roman silver coin hoard in the Swiss Alps in 2003. He has lived in London, Athens and Jerusalem as well as annual time spent in Switzerland, France and Italy every year since 1994.
