Beauty Gifts & More Does Whimsy—Beautifully
Shoppers get their hair styled and leave with something beautiful for themselves or for a friend.
Tucked away on the corner of A Street and Fremont Avenue is a little shop with a lot of unique items. was opened at Loyola Corners in November 2003 by Cher Paul, who previously owned and operated Scissors Salon, a 1,600-square-foot beauty salon in Sunnyvale's Town and Country Village Shopping Center.
When Paul moved to the Los Altos location, which offers salon services, beauty products and gifts, she brought with her 100 customers and an eye for locally made treasures, which she sells to customers.
As you walk into the shop, the first thing you notice is the whimsical display of beautiful and fun cards. Cards and notepads by Dolly Mama’s feature colorful cartoons with quirky sayings and witty wisdom. In addition to Dolly Mama’s, Paul also sells unique pop-up cards for men, women and children.

I thought the Mr. Fix It card with the pop-up toolbox was especially clever and would be great for dad on Father’s Day or a birthday and something that would bring enduring moments of happiness.
In addition to cards, the shop also sells beautiful gift bags, jewelry by local artists, mugs and canteens by Curly Girl Design. The inventory is always changing, so customers can always expect to find something new and unusual. Paul also said that when selecting items, she focuses on locally made items.

A high-end salon would not be complete without high-end products, and those also can be found at the shop. One of my favorite hair products that I love and absolutely swear by is It’s A 10 hair-care products. They smell great and are made with premium ingredients. I especially love the “Miracle Leave-In Product,” which is great for detangling hair and acts as a leave-in conditioner. The shop also sells products for men’s hair.
Although Paul, the owner, is the only stylist at the shop right now, in a little less than a week, a new stylist will join to also provide salon services. In the future, Paul said she also would like to add a manicurist.
