A&nbsp;psychotherapist for over 25 years, Sandy says “Meditation helps us learn&nbsp;how to relax our nervous systems. We all carry so much tension and&nbsp;stress; meditation is a proven way to build in a sense of calm and&nbsp;well-being.”Participants&nbsp;are seated in chairs for this class. The Mid-Peninsula Widow and Widowers Association (<a href="https://www.mpwwa1.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.mpwwa1.org</a>)&nbsp;is a 501(c)(3)&nbsp;non-profit, non-sectarian organization whose membership is comprised exclusively of widows and widowers.&nbsp;The group organizes activities for its members so they can stay engaged with others doing fun, social activities after the passing of their spouse. Group activities include: meals at local restaurants; games including Bocce Ball, Bowling, Card Games; weekly business meetings in Los Altos often followed by a speaker and entertainment; picnic and more.
The group has General Meetings on the first&nbsp;Tuesday of every month from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm. and the following Tuesday&nbsp;nights from 7:30--9:00 pm.&nbsp; Visitors are welcome to join us, at no charge, and should arrive 30 minutes before the meeting starts.&nbsp;

These days, life can feel like it has been turned upside-down. What was relied upon as normal and safe no longer stands on solid ground. Some might even wonder if there is really a reason to hope in these stressful times. But there is.
A free talk and discussion, “A Spiritual Revolution: The Quest to Experience God,” by Christian Science practitioner and international speaker Giulia Nesi Tetreau, explores the ongoing search for a spiritual perspective on living that can lead to an expectation of good and a better life experience. It’s ultimately about a search for the nature of an all-good God, and the practical and inspired effect of God’s nature in life.

Cellist Vic Spain returns to provide music for our worship service.&nbsp; Vic is an avid chamber musician and a champion of hidden gems in the repertoire for string quartet or piano trio. Vic also loves playing in the pit orchestra for operas and musicals, having played with Berkeley Opera (now West Edge Opera) and Concert Operetta Theater of Philadelphia. Vic is retired (for now?) from his career as a veterinarian, farm-animal-welfare researcher, public health epidemiologist, and certified scientific muckraker. When he's not playing music, you may find Vic hiking or backpacking in the Sierra Nevada wilderness.

Apricot-themed and nature-inspired activities await at Los Altos History Museum’s “Apricot STEM Fair” on Sunday, June 28, from 11am to 3pm. Held in the Museum’s courtyard, the event blends STEM, history, and creativity for a day of hands-on learning and fun.&nbsp;
Designed for all ages, the fair features activities and games rooted in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math — from discovering native plants to extracting DNA from apricots and exploring the wonders of robotics.&nbsp;Meet the orchardist of the Los Altos Heritage Orchard, attend a talk by local author Robin Chapman, author of California Apricots: The Lost Orchards of Silicon Valley, and explore the Los Altos Library’s GoGoBiblio.

Viewpoints Gallery is thrilled to present “Walking Toward Serenity,” a collection of luminous new works by local artist Georgesse Gomez.&nbsp;This new collection reveals Georgesse’s expertise in traditional oil painting, showcasing her exceptional ability to depict a sense of place, emotion, and atmosphere inspired by meaningful moments and locations from her past.&nbsp; 
As long as she can remember, Georgesse has been a contemplative. She loves to study, read&nbsp;and reflect on the world around her. Since her childhood, Georgesse has used prayer,&nbsp;books, drawing, painting and hikes in nature to escape from the rough edges of the&nbsp;world and find her center. She has come to learn that developing a recollected sense of&nbsp;one’s life is a powerful way to remain grounded and true to one’s inner voice. When she set foot in Italy seven years ago, Georgesse rediscovered that inner voice and she&nbsp;has returned to Italy twice since that first trip. Looking back through sketchbooks, notes and&nbsp;photographs from her trips, she discovered that reflecting on her past provided her with a path forward and helped her take the next steps into her future.&nbsp;Georgesse’s latest collection of luminous landscapes demonstrates how revisiting memories and sketches from significant periods of her life can serve as inspiration for innovative new works.&nbsp;Join Georgesse on her journey inward as she steps into the past and walks toward serenity.

Participants get personalized feedback, small group activities, and professional-level coaching across multiple speech and debate events.

My name is Clint Blakely and I’m a product of Mountain View High School's performing arts departments, where I fell in love with music singing with the Madrigals. I hold a BA in Jazz Voice from USC's Thornton School of Music. I've played &amp; sung music around the world – Los Angeles bars &amp; clubs, Amsterdam concert halls, Rio de Janeiro churches... I love teaching lessons over Zoom! For the past 5 years, I’ve taught students all over the world whose ages range from 4 years old to 60+. My students have a wide variety of skill levels, from complete beginners to 10+ years of prior study. In my lessons, I combine technical instruction and creative exercises within a fun, encouraging atmosphere.
