To celebrate Earth Day 2014, Green Town Los Altos is sponsoring its 4th annual Drive Less Challenge and Greenest Schools competition! Starting April 22 through May 7 - Bike to School Day, this fun two-week competition aims to encourage more Los Altos and Los Altos Hills residents, especially parents, to explore alternatives to driving gas-powered vehicles.
Our top goal this year is to reduce the number of kids driven to school. Kids learn lasting habits from their parents, so what better way to teach your kids or grandkids to go green than to encourage healthy commuting habits that involve walking, wheeling, carpooling, or public transit?
The Greenest Schools competition will be held between the 10 Los Altos area public elementary schools and between Egan and Blach middle schools for the Greenest School in each category see our website for more details.
