GALAXY, SUPER NOVA, STAR CLUSTER AND PLANET VIEWING

For adults age 50+ Take a journey throughout our galaxy and beyond to see planets, star clusters, orange stars and super novas through the 16-inch computer-controlled solar telescope at Foothill College Observatory.

At this time of year, we can see the famous Beehive Cluster, M44, the giant orange star Aldebaran, the Pleiades star cluster, the planet Jupiter and its moons, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies (2.5 million light-years from Earth) and other celestial bodies.

Our host is Rick Baldrige, a senior engineer who works for companies that design and build satellites and spacecraft systems and a member of the Peninsula Astronomical Society. Rick will teach us all things astronomy and answer any question you may have.
