General Mill Recalls Some Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Boxes
The company cites the possible presence of salmonella in the cereal.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch may be āthe taste you can see,ā but General Mills has announced a voluntary recall due to possible salmonella, invisible to the naked eye, according to the FDA.Ā
The recall includes 168 boxes of single-serve reduced-sugar Cinnamon Toast Crunch bowlpak sold in foodservice establishments.Ā

An ingredient supplier to General Mills had initially recalled an ingredient due to possible salmonella, then notified the cereal company, who promptly announced a recall. Ā Ā
Foodservice operators or consumers who have this product should dispose of it and contact General Mills toll-free at 1-800-328-1144 for a replacement.Ā
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and/or abdominal pain.Ā
