Happening Now: Power Outage In Downtown Los Altos
Police, fire and PG&E are responding. Hundreds of customers affected.

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m., Tuesday:
Power is out to hundreds of PG&E customers in the Los Altos area after a transformer blew out this morning, according to police.
The transformer failed at 8:23 a.m. in downtown Los Altos on Plaza Central between First and Second streets, police said. Los Altos police and Santa Clara County firefighters responded and were awaiting the arrival of PG&E crews as of 9 a.m., police said.

PG&E officials were not immediately available to provide more details about the outage, but the utility’s website listed an outage affecting 595 customers in the downtown Los Altos area.

A power transformer blew out in downtown Los Altos at approximately 8:23 am in Plaza Central between First and Second Streets. Power is currently out in the surrounding areas.
Los Altos Police and Santa Clara County Fire Department are on scene awaiting PG&E response.
