Heads Up, Los Altos: Sewer Repairs Begin Tuesday

Springer Road traffic will be affected.

News from the City of Los Altos:

The City of Los Altos will begin a sewer repair project tomorrow --Tuesday, April 7 -- on Springer Road between Rosita Avenue and Paco Drive. This project will have a significant impact on traffic flow, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Above ground pipes and a sewer bypass pumping system will be assembled and used along the street centerline on Springer Road to convey sewage temporarily before the below-ground pipe repair progresses. Once in place, left hand turns on this segment of roadway will be heavily restricted:

  • Left turns will be prohibited for both southbound and northbound traffic on Springer Road, with the exception of Paco Drive; northbound traffic on Springer Road will be allowed to make left turns onto Paco Drive.
  • Left turns will be prohibited from Arboleda Drive, Paco Drive, westbound Cuesta Drive and southbound Springer Road.
  • Westbound and eastbound traffic on Cuesta Drive will be open; however, drivers should expect delays.

Traffic controls, including detour signage, will be set up on April 7 and is anticipated to be in place for 2-weeks. Work hours will vary between8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the first week of work and 24/7 during the second week of work.
