Holiday Closures in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills
The libraries and city halls are closed both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Here's a list of closures and garbage pickup schedules.
In addition to the closing dates noted below, Los Altos City Hall and the Recreation Department will close early at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Los Altos Garbage and Recycling (Mission Trail)
No pickup on Christmas Day. Pickup will resume on the following day.
No pickup on New Year’s Day. Pickup will resume on the following day.
Los Altos Hills Garbage and Recycling (Green Waste)
Dec. 25 - No pickup on Christmas Day. Pickup will resume on the following day.
Jan. 1 - No pickup on New Year’s Day. Pickup will resume on the following day.
Unincorporated Los Altos/LAH Garbage and Recycling (Recology)
Dec. 24 - Regular pick-up; Offices close early for Christmas Eve
Dec. 25 - No Christmas Day service, collection is the following day of normal pick-up, through Saturday
Dec. 31 - Regular pick-up; Offices close early for New Year's Eve
Jan. 1 - No New Year's Day service, collection is the following day of normal pick-up, through Saturday
