If Your Child Got One of These in a Happy Meal, Be Sure to Toss or Return It
McDonald's is recalling 2.3 million Hello Kitty whistles because of a choking hazard. Return for yogurt, apples or new toy.

Parents, be sure to pull these items from your childrenās toys if you visited McDonaldās in the last few weeks.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission some 2.3 million Hello Kitty themed whistles are being recalled by McDonaldās after two children ā...coughed out pieces of the whistle that they had sucked into their mouths.ā One of them required medical attention.

The whistles were handed out in meals from October through the first week of November.

If you bring the hazardous toy back to McDonaldās, theyāll give you either a replacement toy and a yogurt tube or a bag of apple slices.

The recalled whistles are red and were included in a plastic Hello Kitty figurine holding a pink heart-shaped lollipop. The whistle can be removed and used to make sounds by inhaling or exhaling through the mouthpiece. When closed, the figurine measures about 3 inches in height and width and 1 3/4 inches in depth. The whistle measures about 1 3/4 inches in height and width and 3/4 inches in depth. A picture of Hello Kitty appears on both sides of the whistle. The text āĀ©1976, 2014 SANRIO CO., LTD.ā appears above Hello Kittyās face on the whistle, and āMade for McDonaldās China CCW Chineā appears below Hello Kittyās face on the whistle. The bag in which the toy is packaged includes the text āHello KittyĀ® Birthday Lollipopā and the number ā6ā in the upper right corner.
